ABSTRACT (Medline)

Stabilization center residues supposed to be responsible for the prevention of the decay of the folded structure. The breaking of the interactions in stabilization centers is the rate-limiting step in the unfolding process. Stabilization center residues would play a similiar role in the unfolding than folding nucleation sites in the folding process.

Here you can identify the stabilization center residues in known protein structures or

for sequences with unknown structure you can try our neural network based prediction method.
